Detention Act I

In video production, we are getting into groups and doing a short film. The short film is the genre of each groups choice and my group decided to do a horror film. We had to cut the film into three acts and Act I is what we worked on for about 2 weeks.

In ActI, we introduced the characters and introduced the setting. We have Scarlett, Stacey, Heather, Brad, Jack, Becky, Alex, and Mr.Cooper. The students are spending a Friday night in detention and Mr. Copers watching over them. The students are in their own little groups, with the exception of Scarlett, since it is the first time she gets detention. Mr.Cooper goes ahead and checks everyone of the list and he explains the rules of detention. Then, he gets an unexpected phone call and has to leave the room.

So nothing is revealed so far in the story. Just the fact that Mr.Cooper had to leave the room and leave the students to themselves.

Magazine Cover

So in Graphic Design we learned how to make a magazine cover in Indesign. This magazine consisted of doing a magazine cover with us being on it and choosing any kind of magazine brand of our choice. I decided to do Sports Illustrated since Im really into sports. Especially, (as you can see), soccer.

We started by taking photos anywhere we wanted. Once we got the picture we wanted, I put it in photoshop and started cropping it and fixing it to the right size it was supposed to be. Though it sounds easy enough to do, I had technical difficulties and had to re-do mine more than once and so the process was frustrating. Once I got it fixed I went and did the type. I looked up the fonts used in Sports Illustrated and placed it around. Since I had some limitations, I put the headline to the sides of my body since I saw there was more space. 3005 Music Video

This is our first entertainment project we have done in Video! My group and I have decided to do the song 3005. It was kind of cliché but we had fun with it.  My partners included Alex and Olive Njorge.
Olive did the acting while Alex filmed and I edited the video.

The project took about two weeks to finish. The first two days consisted of who was doing what for the video. This also included of what lyrics were going to be used and how we should do the music video. The next two days was story boarding. We then started filming the day after. Filming took about three days. Once we finished, I edited the video and Alex helped out by cutting the song to only the lyrics we wanted.

Making the music video was very fun and I enjoyed it a lot. I can't wait to do more videos and I hope you guys enjoy the music video!!

My creative poster

This is my creative poster! In
graphic design I had to make a poster that had a Saul Bass style. I decided to the Little Mermaid because I love the movie. I made my poster in Illustrator since I found it easier to do than in Indesign. The poster had to be at least three colors and simple. I took off the color of the original photo and kept it three shades of blue. The color of the text I decided to do red because in the Little Mermaid, the main characters hair is red.
The process of doing the poster wasn't all that complicated. I just put the image in Illustrator and took the color out so it would only be three shades of blue. I then colored in the body so it would b all black, including the rock. I added the tail in order to make it more clearer that the person on the rock was a mermaid and not just a random human.
